Beautiful Butterfly Gift Tag

Hi, it’s Veerle Moreels!

Today, I will show you how to create this Beautiful Butterfly Gift Tag.

 Products used :

Kuretake tools:

ZIG Pearlescent watercolor Jewel box 12 colors

Other Materials:

A black tag 21 cm by 10.5 cm (8 ¼ inch by 4 and 1/8 inch)
A piece of ribbed cardboard 20 cm by 9.5 cm ( 7and 7/8 inch by 3and 7/8 inch)
A piece of watercolour paper 18 cm by 6.5 cm ( 7 inch by 2 ½ inch)
Scrap piece of watercolour paper
Plastic acetate sheet
Piece of cheesecloth or bandage
Gesso
Heattool
 Embossing powder ~silver - brown

Start by tearing a strip off of the piece of watercolor paper to get a rough edge at the right side. Then place dots of the Gansai Tambi paint on top of the watercolour paper. The colours used are Deep violet, Deep pink and Silver.

Spray some water on the plastic acetate sheet and on then quickly turn over and press on top of the watercolor paper then leave to dry.

After, splatter some silver from Pearl Pearlescent watercolor on the watercolour paper. Wait to dry before using ZIG millennium marker to draw a fine line to give a boarder edge.

Use ZIG Emboss marker on top of the butterfly stamp and stamp on top of scrap piece of watercolour paper. Whilst the pattern is still wet on the paper, add brown embossing powder straight on top of the design. Remove excess by lightly tapping the waterpaper card. Then use a heat gun to heat the powder.Once dry, use ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers in colours 38 Peacock Blue – 67 Mustard – 68 Deep Brown to colour it in. To create a nice and fine shimmer effect on the butterfly, once dry go on top Using the Wink of Stella clear.

Collect the ribbed cardboard and start randomly laying down tiny bit of gesso using a brush.  On top of the dry gesso, go over parts using Woodcraft marker- Violet and silver metallic colour. The chisel tip makes it super easy to only highlight the top of the ribbed cardboard.

For an added touch, use the ZIG Emboss marker and repeat step 4 again, but use silver embossing powder for the stamped quote message on a separate piece of paper. Once dry cut out into a banner shape and create a boarder using ZIG Millennium 01. A stamped quote can be added on top of the background made in step 2 if desired.
To put it all together, use ZIG 2 Way glue, starting with the black tag, then add the piece of ribbed cardboard, then layer on the bandage and then watercolour background.

Here, my final work!
